Jon Thurmond, SHRM-SCP is the Mid-Atlantic Regional Human Resources Manager for Team Fishel, a utility engineering and construction firm. He oversees the company’s national social recruiting program. A prolific speaker nationwide, Jon hosts the #HRSocialHour Half Hour Podcast and Twitter chat. Pulling from his diverse experience in recruiting, employee/labor relations, and HR leadership roles, Jon has worked across several industries, including healthcare, finance, public utility, and construction. Lorena Pabon, MHSA, SHRM-CP works a Human Resources Practitioner in a Dermatology Practice based in Orlando, Florida. In 2014 she graduated from University of Puerto Rico with a BBA majoring in Human Resources Management and a minor in Corporate Communication in English and Spanish. By 2017 she had pursued her Masters Degree in Health Services Administration at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.
Lorena has been involved with SHRM since 2011 first as a student and later became part of the Greater Orlando SHRM chapter board of directors in 2018 as their Membership Director. She is currently holding the role of College Relations Director, in which she gets to support student chapters in local universities. She became a SHRM Certified Professional in May 2018 and has continued to pursue her passion for HR through writing and social media. Later in 2018 she co-founded her blog: The Future of HR where she shares her personal experiences and insights from a young professional's perspective.
